My name is Rebecca Yevchak, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I graduated from Lock Haven University in 2020 with a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in working with veterans and their families. This means I earned an additional Trauma-informed therapy certificate during grad school. This catapulted my interest in providing comprehensive trauma-attuned therapy and counselling support. I am always looking for "what's next" in terms of how I will broaden my horizons and deepen my knowledge to provide these services in a good way.
Professionally, I'm all about curiosity and creating a genuine connection. You will always be the expert in your life and I encourage you to speak your truth in session. My goal is to follow your lead and create the most authentically supportive, empowering, and safe environment possible. I recognize the importance of cultural values and teachings, and encourage you to explore how you connect to your culture both in session and in community.
I am fluent in English, sarcasm, and dark humor. I pair well with clients who want a therapist that is able to think outside the box and strike the appropriate balance between holding space and encouraging you to safely outgrow your comfort zone
When I'm not working in the mental health arena, you can find some of my art at Kosmic Krumbs and myself behind a camera. Both professionally and personally, I love to connect and engage with my community. I have interests in other holistic healing, including energy work and plant medicine. I'm always looking for adventure near and far. I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Dawson Creek in 2021. I may not have been born in the north, but my heart has always felt right at home here. I'm always down to go for a drive in search of northern lights, moose, and other wild beauties that this area has to offer.
